One of the few halfway decent shots of the hundreds I took that day, and I end up with a foot in her face. A disappointing evening for me. Next time I should just sit back and enjoy the show.

Looks like you had plenty of light: 1/800s f/2.0 at ISO 800.

I'd rather have stopped down a bit, and set 1/500s or maybe ISO 1600.
The problem here isn't motion, but focus.
Quite difficult in an event like this I'd suspect.
Pity about the foot, I agree. Nice effort nevertheless.

I was trying to go for subject separation with f/2. I probably wasn't using the AI-Servo mode correctly. Thanks for looking.

I'll chime in - If you really need the image

IMHO the fix does not look too difficult. A little cloning - if you have another image that's has a clean front you can sample from that.
