Should I sell my Sigma 70-200 2.8 EX?

You can see what I have on my signature. I just ordered the 100-400 L and the 300 F4 L (Both my wife and I shoot). I find I use the 70-200 2.8 mostly with the 1.4x teleconverter so I end up with a 4.0 max apperture and a 98-280 focal length. I am wondering if the new lenses will suit my purpose and I can sell this one to recoup some funds or if I am going to miss it.

If you only used it with the T-con.. then I bet you wont need it.. but if you ever use it @ f/2.8?

hmm, i say no. the 100-400 is great, but to big to lug around all the time. don't really know about the sigma, but the canon 70-200 is a sharper, and contrastier lens, producing a more pleasing BG. the colors are also better. this is my fav lens, although i love the 300f4 too. what the h3ll, you can always get another one later if you miss it. :lol: :lol:

I rarely use it at 2.8. I guess sometimes I do. I bought it because I wanted a lens that I could hand hold for action shots at little league games and also to blur out backgrounds when shooting LL. It has not served me well for the second purpose since most of the shots of kids batting the background is to close to get it blurred even at 2.8. I think I am going to shoot with the new lenses for a while and then decide.

I just bought a 300mm f/4 L IS too and it will be my nature lens. but I can never see myself seeling the 70-200 F/2.8 Sigma EX I have. Its excellent for my Hockey, baseball, etc shots.

I've thought about selling my Canon 70-200 f/2.8 a few times because I use it so rarely.

But then when I *do* use I'm so happy I have it.

IMHO, a lens like that is a lifer. Then again, I don't have a 28-75 f/2.8....
