Just got a quote from Hill & Usher... quite higher than I expected due to "coastal" location. So I was wondering what Florida Professionals are using and what kind of prices they are paying. Please don't chime in with State Farm - it's not a possibility for me due to my home owner's.

My stats were $1730 for $1m liability (no error/omission), (up to) $50k gear (yes, I have 48k total with rental, computer & software) & $250 deductable. I think this is primarily because I'm in a frame home 10 miles from the beach. (?)

Alternately, I can choose the dual international policy route: $1327 for Int Equip Coverage, Liability & E/O and up to $50k gear with $1k deductable.

Take a look at the SEP (Society of Event Photographers) THey have a program through Marsh (in Atlanta). rates are a flat rate based on the value of equipment. Something like $2.75/$1000 value for first $10K and $1.75/$1000 after that. I live 1/2 mile from the gulf and they covered me. Deductible is $100 per event not piece. I tried the Hill and Usher route and they would not cover me due to location

I joined PPA last night - which is Marsh, so I'll be checking into them. (coincedently) Thanks for the response.

Tcp will not cover anyone in Florida with the exception of two small counties in Northern Florida. I live in south Florida and they will not cover me.

I went with PPA/Marsh. I feel confident with the decision so far. Ended up paying around $327 for $2M liability and $595 for $27k in equipment. In comparison to Hill's $1780, it was quite a savings. Hill upcharges for living on the "coast". Marsh (as a group) does not. Both policies are identical from what I can tell. Checking with a few other places, I found PPA to be the best deal overall. So, if you're in Florida, consider the PPA organisation.
