So I mentioned the guy that wanted to send me the money for my rebel and wanted to use western union before. He sent me an email today saying that he would use paypal and he'd put the money in the morning. I questioned him about why he thought paypal wouldn't instantly clear and haven't got a response yet. Knowing this, if he really does put the money in my paypal account, is there still a way I can be scammed?

If it were me; I'd immediately transfer the money into my bank out of Paypal. That way he has to go one more step in Paypal's problem resolution process in order to get his $ back.

Once you have the cash; here's what I've done..
get the box ready
take to post office
go to the counter; SHOW to postal lady or man what you're shipping. Trust me; they'll remember you.
THEN tape up the box; get signature confirmation
Put the Shipping # in Paypal as soon as possible so the buyer can't claim you didn't ship it at all.
IF something happens; then you have the recourse of a postal worker who saw the camera go into the box and not a brick.
It's what I did one time.. And although the postal lady thought I was funny for thinking of it; she said she didn't mind at all.
