When discussing the Sigma 10-20, he made this interesting point

"Because it's not as sharp at the sides my D200 won't always focus properly with any other than the center AF sensor."

He does precede it with "the Sigma can make spectacular images, especially at 10 mm", but I've never heard such a strange comment.

He then goes on to say
"It makes funny noises when focusing, has crummy lens caps, a weird, ugly painted finish and doesn't inspire my confidence. It's warranty is only one-third as long as the next shortest warranty." (Someone should teach him that it's is short for it is)

Like I've said before, we talk about him, which means he won.

His website ranks very high as well.

If he's not making a great deal of money, I'd be surprised.

You are right of course. To be honest though, he seems sincere, and well meaning - just wrong in so many ways. I don't begrudge the man for earning a living talking nonsense, as he's not harming anyone trying to preach his views, and the man does take some nice photos.

He is a lens snob for the most part and will poo poo most third party lenses IMO, so you have to take what he says with a grain fo salt.

He has a grudge against Sigma in particular, I'm not sure why, he has the good grace to say that you're better off spending the difference between the Tokina and the Nikon on going out shooting, and getting the Tokie, as the differences are so small.

I kinda like Ken and think it is deeply 'uncool' to be too critical, because it implies he actually takes himself seriously, which he clearly doesn't that much. He sure knows how to get people viral marketing for his site though so he can't be that dumb. To me he's just another online expert a*shol* same as me and most folks here. Take it all with a pinch of salt.
