I was lucky enough to snag a photo pass and be able to photograph the final two shows of this amazing band's last gigs ever.
They broke up after 21 years on New Year's Eve.
Here are a few shots; I used my 20D and a 24-70 2.8 lens, ISO 800, no flash.

Brilliant shots! My fave is the third, the blurry jumping one.

Wasn't the last album ace too? Every time I DJ and play 'Gonna Never Have To Die' people always love it.

I shall miss them!

Thanks you guys.
Yes! 'Half Smiles of The Decomposed'.
I am a diehard GBV fanatic, so this chance to shoot those last two shows was something of a dream realized.
I have slide shows made from both nights with way too many images in each. I had shot over a 1000 images, so............these at 72 amd 92 images per slide show are reasonable.(not really).
I too shall miss them.

You have preserved them. Proudly so.

Very nice work. It's an awesome experience to make the shoot of (your) lifetime, whatever it may be. You are both fortunate and blessed with The Eye.

I'm inspired.

great photos... with a high ISO like that, was there much noise in the original high res pics? That's one of my larger issues with my Pro1.... when I put it on ISO 400 (which is the highest it goes by the way), I get a lot of noise.

Is it much better with a DSLR like the D20 or Digital Rebel?

Awesome shots there! I' don't know the band either but your portrayal of them is excellent. My favourite is the last shot.

No, it was minimal; the noise was just not a concern this time out. The shots have had only a tad of tweaking done in PhotoShop, some are right out of the camera. Others have a bit of levels adj, some contrast adj. I used no noise reduction on any of them. This is exactly why I am loving my 20D. I shoot a lot of bands, mostly in dark clubs and not nearly lit as well as this show was.The 20D has been just fabulous in these tough situations.
Thanks again for the nice comments.

Oh, it's there............................it's there. He'd be sad if he lost it.

And the courage seekers
Of the aborted logos
Of declaration "no-go" are gone
But I'll keep a light for 'em
Hold down the fort for 'em
And wear my maroon blazer all the time
