Here is a shot I took at one of our training fires, as you can guess it is extremely hot.
I had to shoot this with a Tamaron 28-300, I did use photoshop to add the grain. Please Critque.

i like it...dramatic....how do you put ur sig in the lower r corner??

Whilst I agree with oceanrider about the drama, IMO with a sepia image I find it hard to define if they are filling a pond or watering some large garden. I think the image would be much better in colour, reds and yellows all suggest warmth/heat this would also match your title better.

Personally I likethe first version better. I think the "real" colors are inconsistent (is this an English word?) with the duotone. Might be interesting to try to desaturate the whole (original color)picture except the fire?

Just a thought. I like the shot, really, a bit pity you can'r recognize what's burning

Woudl it be possible to use PS to add flames above the water spray to give it a really dramatic edge?


I know you can't do anything about this, but the guy to the right looking down really detracts from the image. The other guys are all in action and he looks like he's thinging "sucks where do I make it work".
