Winter Windmill

Took this shot today in Essex, CT. It is a windmill along a cove just off of the CT. River. We had about 4 inches of snow last night and the shot was taken in the rain (thanks to my now umbrella holder, Gary (aka my tripod boy!)).

Beautiful as usual Karina. I've never seen that before, does some live there or use it as a summer cottage? Right now we are getting freezing rain. not the snow that was promised real mess outside.

Im not sure...I think it is on private property...looks like the piece of land belongs to the house a bit further up judging by the white decorative fencing. I had seen some other photos of this windmill but did not know where it was...only knew it was in a residential area...so we stopped and asked a mailman who was on foot :confused: Luck would have it he gave us directions to it and I was able to get a few shots from the road. Its a handful of streets off of Main Street. If you ever decide to do some photography in Essex I could probably remember the directions to get there :D I think there are a few other vantage points from further away, allowing you to get some of the marshes in the photo. Was just a crummy day for doing photography.
