I have about $100 or so to spend and I'm looking to get my next piece of gear, but I can't decide which will do me the most good. I'm a new photographer so I'm shooting a little bit of everything.

Based on recommendations, I think I've narrowed it down to:

Vivitar 285HV Flash (http://www.amazon.com/Vivitar-285HV-Auto-Professional-Flash/dp/B00004TVSP/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1215112109&sr=8-1)
Opteka Battery Grip (http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-Grip-Vertical-XT-Batteries/dp/B000G3KLPA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1215115277&sr=1-1)
Hoya Pro 1 67mm Circular Polarizer (http://www.amazon.com/Hoya-Digital-Circular-Polarizer-Filter/dp/B0009K7CZW/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1215115352&sr=1-7) (for my Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens)

I know none of it's very sexy gear, but what would come in most handy for the next few months?

Sunpak 383s flash instead of vivitar. I don't see a need for the grip myself because I've never used one....can't say for the cpolarizer, but they are handy sometimes.

If you don't have a flash, get some lighting gear... the others are accessories, light is essential.

Any particular reason the Sunpack is better than the Vivitar? It seems to be discontinued and a little harder to find.

Fully rotating head, 1/8 power, better reliability than the new vivitar 285 models...only downside is no zooming head.

Might help if we knew what gear you already have. Perhaps your short list should be expanded
