I pass this horse farm and stable on the way home almost every day, and sometimes the horses are gathered in such a way that attracts my interest. Shot this sometime last summer with my G3.

The brick structure in the centre foreground really does dominate the picture and draw the eye (the fence draws the eye in from both sides to that central point).
The two horse to the right isolated would maybe make a better composition.

Thanks for the perspective, Damian, but I'm not sure I see the fence structure as "dominating" the whole shot in a negative sense, but perhaps it does. I guess being the one who captures the image and holds the thought and intent behind the lens, leaves me with a somewhat diminished objectivity. My eye is drawn almost immediately to the horses, their grouping, and in particular, the light colored one who turned toward when I clicked for his attention. Thanks again for your thoughts......Mackroe

I think that the brick structure could remain in the photo but should not be in the center. It gives the fence some extra class, but should not compete with the horse for attention. I agree that the horse facing us is the most interesting subject and draws the eye. Cropping?

I think it is a darned shot just the way it is. Good work.

Again, thanks for "all" comments...many perspectives make me more aware of pros & cons, and thats a good thing....Mackroe
