morning all,

im sure this has been asked before, ive gone througth the past posts and it did sorta help

i have a canon 300d with the 18-55mm lense
Various sites i visit seem to use the canon 17-40mm ultra wise lense, but im thinking that there isnt much difference between that and my 18-55 (is there?)

if you had to pick 3 lenses, what would they be?

3 lenses with no budget?

Canon 50mm F1.4
Canon 28-135 IS (or maybe the Tamron 28-75 )
Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS (or maybe the 100-400IS)

Welcome to the forum.

The 17-40 is far superior to the 18-55 (as reflected by the price difference and the fact that it's 'L').

3 lenses with a budget?

Canon 50mm f1.8
Canon 28-135 IS
Canon 70-200 f4

Just my two pence/cents worth.

16-35 f/2.8L
24-70 f/2.8L
70-200 f/2.8L IS

if you are on a budget:
50mm f/1.8
28-135 IS

Yes ! ! but many don't think it enough to justify the cost difference. I do though, I have the 16-35 and I also have to budget closly as have limited resources. funny how we can eventually get what works best for us anyway.
