Those of you who are NOT pros with inside the fence passes, what are you taking and how are you carrying your stuff--not just camera stuff, but everything you need to lug with you?

I am torn between a Street & Field system, Sling Shot 300 AW, or simply a couple of lens cases and some loose stuff mixed in with the food inside my Timbuk2 messenger bag, and wear a hydro pack--or sling a small cooler along with a small tripod stool.

My kid is going to camp there Sat nite--but I can't trust him to watch anything--he'll be at the night races.

My kit will likely be my 40D with 70-200 f/2.8, a 1.4x TC, 580EX flas, battery pack, Epson P-2000, Sigma 18-200 OS (for around the pits and wide shots), Olympus C5050 so I don't need to change a lens if a hotty comes by close, spare batteries for everything.

I don't think I am going to bother with a monopod--looks like really nice WX all weekend--sunny and about 80F for the high.

We got a really good rain storm yesterday (I'm 30 miles East of Red Bud track) and no rain predicted until Sunday evening so the track should be prime! Some new section have been added this year making it more Euro style MX and longer--they used parts of the grass track.

REEEEEEDDDDDDD BUUUUUUDDDDDDDD!!!!!

I can't wait to get there Saturday. This will be my 3rd year in a row, and it is by far my favorite race of the year. Great track, and a really good party Saturday night.

I will be shooting inside the fence, but I'll let you know what I'll be carting around anyhow. I have a Lowepro Nature trekker backpack that will be strapped to cart of sorts. That think is just too heavy to carry. Inside will be a 300 2.8, 70-200, 17-40, 24-70, 2 580's, 5d, 1dMkII, a tripod, and a couple pocket wizards. I'll stuff a few bottles of water and some sun screen in the front pouch too. I usually carry most of this stuff on my person, but my back just can't handle it any more, so I'm going to try to roll it around for a while.

Have fun, and post up some shots next week.

Give me your 300 2.8 and your back will be just fine.

My old back can handle that lens, its my wallet that can't. :o

The only thing I'd suggest to the OP is to freeze a couple bottles of water, for in his sling cooler, and you can drink them later, to lessen the amount of extra stuff to lug around all day.
