There's no exif in the images, so, I'm going to say that the DOF here is too shallow. Probably had the lens opened up to about 2.8 or 4.0 (or somewhere in the vicinity). As a result, you're loosing detail in the body/head/eyes. Lighting is abundant, at least in the third one...so, maybe a diffused flash might help to bring in more. I'd shoot again, if possible, with a f-number around 8-11 or even 16...with a comparable shutter speed. That might bring out the details, some more. I do like the red snake eyes, though...just wish they were in complete focus.
Hope I've helped...

Nice ones- as commented above the DOF is very shallow.
Is the last snake albino ?

Thanks ,
I am playing around with my camera and reversing the kit lens with my fingers.
I really need to invest me in a macro lens tho!!!!!
You helped a bunch but as far as I know once the lens is removed my f stop stays at 0
is there any way to change the aperature without a lens attached?
