On our way to my friend's place be passed by this scene and I just had to stop and shoot a few pictures, the black & white conversion gives it some more power. Shot with my 30D and 50mm lens. C&C appreciated!
The line underneath is Dutch for "The road to enlightenment"

I think it is a great shot.
If you get a chance to shoot that again, have your friend walk down the road, his head down and back to you. Having a human figure in the picture would make that a very powerful image.

Thanks,
Nice tip as well, I'll see what I can do next time I'm going there.

Nice B&W conversion. Powerful, and I think the photo can speak for itself through that power. You don't need that heavy dark frame with the text. It seems a tad too ponderous. The message is inherent in the composition and the lighting. Trust your audience.
Congratulations on such a fine photo and PP.
What B&W conversion did you use?

I like the shot, but the frame is too overwhelming for me.

The picture is best viewed on a black background. It's unfortunate we don't have one here on POTN so I opted for a large black frame instead. I hope you can understand.
Thanks for the replies!
