Cropping to Ratio or as needed

What's the default everyone uses? Do you crop to a specific Ratio, keep the Ratio out of the camera, or you crop it as it needs it; Damn printing or screen sizes, crop tight!

I only crop if I need to. If I'm printing I will crop to the print size but for online I'll only crop if the photo needs it. I try and get it right in camera when I take the shot.

If I print I crop A4 and print A4, otherwise I crop broadly according to the demands of the image and then reduce to 1024 px.

I only crop to a specific ratio, it's my OCD getting the best of me. ;)

I normally try to crop as tight as possible using common fixed ratios (2x3, 3x4, 4x5), but if it doesn't fit I resort to free cropping. Anyone crop with the golden mean? I believe the ratio's like 1:1.618...etc. Maybe that's too artsy...

I have to say I'm very surprised with the turn out so far. Every other post around here is you could have cropped it tighter, or just a little more crop on the right, top, whatever.

I have always cropped to the specific size that I needed, if I'm just shooting for my own than its almost always the format of the lens, 4:5 or 16:9 for the wides. Most of the time 4:5.

I crop to the ratio that best suits the subject, which I generally determine before I even shoot it. It's not like I'm the one that decided on a silly 3:2 aspect ratio.

I'm looking at getting a digital picture frame and intend buying a 3:2 aspect ratio, but there's not many out there - I don't want to go cropping every picture I intend displaying on it.
I'm leaning towards the Phillips 10".

I would have participated in that thread if the forum search had revealed it - I'll get the Phillips 10" which has the same aspect ratio (3:2) as our Canon DSLR's.
