I already have elements and I was wondering if photoshop 6.0 is better since it's more expensive (or was)
When I read tutorials or photoshop tips they mention all these options and tools that arent in my element.
ugh i suck at photoshop... i dunno when im going to actually learn

I don't think I would upgrade from Elements if you are having trouble getting all you can out of it. Photoshop 6 (several years old) is not worth much either insofar as version CS ( or ver 8) is todays standard.
On the other hand, if you are serious about using all of Photoshops tools and you can get version 6 for very little $, you might be able to upgrade to CS and have the cost be lower than plunging right into CS.

Photoshop Elements has a number of features that aren't in PS 6.0, because PS Elements is newer, and on the other hand, PS Elements is a simpler version than the full version of Photoshop, so it also lacks some features that the full version has.
There is a special upgrade offer to upgrade your PS Elements 2.0 to the latest full version of Photoshop (Photoshop CS) for $299, see this thread: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=51217
The upgrade from PS 6.0 to PS CS costs something like $ 169.
So if you want Photoshop CS, and you can get PS 6.0 for less than the difference (299 - 169 = $ 130), the cheapest way is to get PS 6.0 and upgrade it to PS CS.
There's also a new version of PS Elements out now, Photoshop Elements 3.0. It has some of the features that previously were only in Photoshop CS (like Camera Raw, support for 16 bit per channel images, the Healing Brush).
