This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.

Here's the breakdown of the game. I will post a picture that I choose, resized to exactly 1024 pixels maximum on the long side. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to any levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.

The game will last 48hrs and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.

Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read (Before and After #79.)

This is all about having fun so have at it!!!

This will end Monday 7th July at 12 AM EST.

Wanted to see what y'all do with a side profile of the jet this time. Did this since I know my other one people had fun with.

This isnt my best but had a decent effect

-Duplicated sky by using the marquee tool
-then flipped it and slid it down underneath the jet
-erased the sky from over the jet
-then lowered the saturation to match the sky above the plane
-merged layers
-create layer and filled it with white
-used render to create clouds
-motion blurred them
-overlayed the clouds
-merged layers
-lowered saturation
-sharpened
-posted

Couldn't help but put this puppy in the sky :)

- Removed the background and the landing gear
- Added new sky
- Rotated Jet to a slight upward angle
- Added a slight hue to the Jet so it matches the sky
- USM to Jet and Gaussian Blur to sky
- Levels on both fore and background
- Added Jets wash by selecting area, feather to 8px then adding a glass effect and lightening slightly
- Crop
- Flattened layers
- Slight Vignette
- Border

This didn't really need a whole lot so I mostly made some color and contrast changes. I can't remember the exact steps, but this is very close.

- Cropped and cloned out the jaggy tiedown things.
- LAB soft light apply image to boost some of the colors
- Ran BH's LOMO action and blended with the original @ 35% opacity, soft light blend mode
- CEP Bleach Bi-Pass on the tarmac (~50%)
- CEP Bi-color filter
- Frame

Zim, get back in formation !!! We need to stay below RADAR !!!
(Tracey, sorry to be hard on the little guy, but you know how he gets)

1. Select plane (F-22 ??) & clean up layer with eraser tool
2. Use clone tool to close missle door and landing gear
3. Add new layer with shot of Pacific Ocean with Channel Islands in BG
4. Copy plane layer & resize to 65 % to create second plane
5. Distort both plane layers to make the planes look longer (they always seem to look longer to me when they're flying really fast, rather than sitting static on the tarmac)
6. Correct the shadow under the wing to match wing's profile
7. Add border
8. Oh, what the heck - Add Zim Ship - Grr is in the cockpit with Zim - Just for fun (This time Zim is not trying to destroy the Earth)

I think I mangled my attempt, but here it is:

I added canvas to the left and right side and then cropped it to a panoramic. Cloned and copied/pasted sections to fill in the new areas. Used a surface blur and some nr on the sky and ground to smooth out the cloning - but I think I overdid it.
Added contrast.
Burned in on some parts of the plane.
Added vignette.
Added border.

Great job everyone. Was a bit of hard one to pick, but I also take into consideration the last time someone started a before and after. So that way we keep a good rotation going. :D

So thekid24 congrats I liked you edit it gave a real sense of speed and you brought out the jet very well.
Lee123's yours was cool with the jet was would been cool too see a little blue flame just aft of the engine.
Ocron I like the gradation of the sky and I think the processes you used gave a great effect.
SilverHCIC like Tracey I also like Zim and Gir so yours gave me a laugh because it would be something that he'd probably do. I think you also did a great closing up every thing as well.
Shadiow not sure of the steps you took, but it turned good.
Suzyb, great edit the plane stands out great and I also like the vignette. Yeah I can see what you mean a little on the left hand side and the far side, but good attempt nevertheless.

Thought I would comment on everyones since I had the time and there wasn't too many people. Look forward to the next one.

Congrats TheKid, you did a good job of showing movement. Lee, I liked yours also, esp the way you did the exhaust or wash.

Thanks Ocron. I wasn't sure how it would look, but thankfully it turned out ok. My wife said it looked like something out of Thunderbirds...lol...
