Any tips on reducing pic size to post? My photos start at about 1.5 mb (shooting with 3.2MP S1 IS at best setting) I need to reduce image size to around 400 x 300 in PS to get to under the 100 kb limit for posting. They then seem small in the post compared to other images that I have seen posted. Am I missing something?

Since you have Photoshop, use the "Save For Web" function and adjust the "Quality" setting to somewhere between 60 and 75%. Depending on how "busy" your shot is, that setting should yield about 100k for 800x600 pixel shot.

PhotoStudio actually - is there a similar function aside from the resize image?

Dont know anything about PhotoStudio, but I would look under the "Preferences" section, to see if there is a percentage adjustment for when you save as a jpg. BUT BE WARNED: when you change this setting, it will save EVERY picture at that setting, SO BE SURE TO SET IT BACK TO 100% FOR OTHER SAVE PURPOSES. You dont want to be saving at 60% for a photo that you will want to print.

You might want to check nonags.com for a freeware imageviewer that can save jpgs at different quality levels. Then use that progam as a dedicated "Saving" program

One that I use is Polyview (www.polyview.com) - $30.00 american, and a very full featured viewer.

Good luck,

IrfanView. Free, and it will resize using Lanczos. Nice.

I tried the Microsoft Picture It software that comes with XP - I think it has a more flexible resizing tool - lets see
