View Full Version : Raw images are damaged?

All the RAW image files on my wifes 40D end up damaged. Photoshop won't recognize the file, Photomatix imports them but they are purple. It has worked previously, this is a new issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

How are you importing them onto your computer? Did you use a card reader?

Do the shots look good on the cameras LCD?
Have you the latest version of ACR?

Tried that, and they appear fine on the camera.

How are you importing them onto your computer? Did you use a card reader?

Do the shots look good on the cameras LCD?
Have you the latest version of ACR?

An internal card reader, and now that I think about it I did have to bend one of the pins back into place on the card reader recently. However, all other files are imported with no other issue.

As far as if I have the latest version of ACR...I dunno. :oops:

I had this happen, but it was because my husband had just bought a Digital Rebel XSi, and the RAW format was not recognized by my computer. A quick download from the Canon website fixed the problem.

Yep, tried about 6 different ones.

can you post a sample RAW image somewhere for us to take a look at it?

CS3

Is your ACR version 4.4.1?

It wasn't, but with an update it now is. That fixed my problem with photoshop, Photomatix still isn't working so maybe I will try reinstalling it.

So all is well when they go through PS now?

Sounds like you might need an update of Photomatix too then if it works in PS.

haha, that did it. I guess it just caught me off guard because RAW files have worked on both programs previously.
