A few of a couple I shot this evening. Waited too long and the sun went down. Location sucked, but will redo at a different venue.

I still can't knock down that flash at sunset. My flash was lighting up the grass and it looked weird. How do you solve this?

first shot i just dont like the table for a bg. id rather have just all grass, some of the beautiful sunset sky or anything but a table.
second shot u focused on their hands. did u try focus on face too. maybe that would work better?

guess everyone busy from the 3 day week end to post replies.

were you using the flash on camera? if not & your trying to keep the light off the ground & only on the subject try a snoot, grid, or the zoom setting on your flash.
if your talking about on camera flash I would recomend only using it for fill & maybe turn your exposure comp +up. i have found you can get awesome images even in harsh light w/ out any flash so long as you keep the sun behind your subject & crank up your exposure comp +.
any how i think the images you posted look good! your gonna ask them to do them over at a new location?

Yeah, I had about 15 minutes of sunlight with nothing but a field of grass and a table. But they're close friends, and they'll gladly understand as they were the ones who couldn't make it earlier

the second is a cute shot. first, just seems really close to the couple who is having a kind of intimate moment. imo
