First off, I dont know if that is the correct name or not of what I'm looking for. Anyhow, I recently purchased the EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM and I would like to get a tripod ring/mount for it. Does Canon make one in black?

Thanks everyone!

Thank you!

It is listed for the 70-200. Will that fit my EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM?

$ 149.95

:D :D :D

Is it really that much of a precision piece to manufacture?

I find it interesting that the white version is $9.99 plus $7.50 shipping to the US, while the black is $14.97 plus $12.95 shipping to the US. Both have the same specs.

Just another way to keep the brother down.

I have it figured out; the black paint contains more lead, therefore shipping cost jumps to next level due to extra weight. :rolleyes:

I bought one of these for my Canon 70-200 f/4 IS from a company in China off of e-Bay for around $20 US. - I figured $20 was not too much to risk.

It arrived in 4 days and works perfectly. It has a 'Made for Canon' decal rather then a 'Canon' decal. I compared it to the $149 version at B&H and it appears to be identical to the current model.

The company has contacted me since asking for feedback on the product and whether I thought the latching knob could be improved and if finish matched the lens barrel (it does). This was in extremely fractured English, but certainly showed a strong desire to satisfy customers.

This makes no sense... Why would they market a black tripod ring for the 70-200 f4? To the best of my knowledge, that lens does not come in black...

Keep in mind you get what you pay for... When your expensive lens hits the concrete because your $15.00 Chinese tripod ring fell apart, you'll wish you bought the Canon one.

it also fits other lenses such as the 400 f5.6L, 300 f4L and 200 f2.8L, which comes in black.
