Here are photos that I took while exploring an old abandoned mill. I used a crummy tripod and all the light is provided by my headlamp and a friends flashlight. The exposures range from 15-30sec. I used a sigma 12-24, with the iso @ 400 I believe. For the skyline shot, I used a Canon 28-135. The building that these are from is what we call the ladder room. The ladder goes up 200' and the building is used to move grain (wheat we think) to the silos next to it. I'm wondering what if anything these images do for you...

In a sense I am going for creepy, because when you're in the building it's very creepy. At the same time I'm also fascinated by the old machines and showing a building that is falling apart. (Which I need to go back and get more images for.)

skimmilk68- I'm not too scared going through abandoned buildings because I never go alone. There are usually 2-4 other people that go as well, so we figure safety in numbers. On this particular trip we had 9 people (http://illegallyalive.com/mill/rsIMG_3692.jpg)! Which is waaay to many in my opinion but everything worked out and no one fell in a hole, so that's good.

Interesting shots. I love old mill buildings and most old buildings, for that matter. I even make part of my living at exploring them! :) First impression was its a setting for a horror flick. The lighting has a lot to do with that. Ususally I'm interested in the building structure so I need better light but a lot of time I don't have much more than you had.
