playing with colour desaturation for an aged look.

The insect on the flower is easy to miss.

Like it a lot. Was is just plain desaturation, or other techneques as well?

Bronco,

Here is another easy technique that might suit that shot. In it's full color iteration, duplicate the layer, desaturate the bottom layer, Gaussian blur the top layer (play with amounts of blur from mild to extreme), the set the blend mode of the top layer to "Color" and experiment with various opacities. With the right shot, this is a pretty nice effect.

Looks pretty good. I'd like to see a different color background, if possible, to create a little more separation between the subject and background. It is a nice shot as is though.

Thansk for the tip Rad, I will give it a try...thanks to all of you for the comments, Lhoney I did try differen't background without actually changing it, this one seemed like the best one.
