Hi Bryan,

I assume this (since you mentioned the FreeBSD crw) that you're using Matt Dillon's port of David Coffin's crw converter? If so, are you on the crw-decode mailing list at wonderland.com?

There are some interesting posts from Peter Galbavy who has done some very interesting work in determing how to pull the white-balancing parameters out of the CRW file. His results are *not* reflected in David Coffin's or Matt Dillon's port.

I also have some patches to David Coffin's code base to speed it up with a loss in portability, by using mmap instead of stdio to do the initial reading of the image. The mmap changes are versus an older version of crw.c, but I've been meaning to get it updated to the latest crw.c version. I also have some minor speedup patches which hopefully David will incorporate into his latest version of the code base.

Hi There,

No, I was not on the mailing, but I am now! Thanks for the information. For the 1.0 release I intended to use the original crw.c code base since I haven't got a chance to go through the code, but I plan to do so once I am done with version 1.0.

Hi There,

Just to let you know that I have just released CRW Converter for Mac OS X Beta 2, I have sent out the download instructions to the beta testers. If you are interested in trying it out, please note that this program only converts .CRW files, and it runs only on Mac OS X 10.2 or later systems.

For people who has not join the beta test, you can send me an email with your Camera model and Operating system version, I will then send back the download info.
