Here is my question to all you experts out there.

If the 1D & 1Ds II can auto focus at F8, isn't that firmwars and why hasen't someone with the knowledge figure that out, so the 300D abd 20 D could do the same.

Actually, that's hardware. The AF sensor that's used in the center of the EOS 1 series cameras is much more sensitive than the one used in the other EOS cameras. A firmware hack is not going to change that.
