Unable to get A40 Pictures on TV

I am unable to show my pictures on my TV with my A40 camera. I connected the AV cable to the video input and to the camera, turned on the TV, set the camera to play, but nothing shows on the TV. If i remove the cable from the camera, the pictures are on the LCD. I tried pressing display with no effect. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

I finally figured out what I did wrong. I did not change the setting on the video channel from SVID to VID. Once I did, everything worked well.
