Hi all,

This was the first time I have ever shot motorsports, and with my new lens (70-200F4L IS) I didnt know what to expect. I got a few dud shots, but otherwise I am really happy with my results for the day. I was fortunate that most of the day was overcast, and the lighting was great for the colours. Only problem was, it appears that my WB treatment of mots of these shots seems to have come out really warm. I chose the 'cloudy' setting and thought they looked good at home, but sitting on a different PC now they all look a bit off.

Anyway, lots of MG's, Datsuns, Ford Escorts, Lotus 7's and a few other open wheelers, along with some big Aussie Commodores thrown into the mix. Was an excellent day. Here are some of the better pictures:

More can be seen in my gallery (http://shines.smugmug.com/gallery/5339655_v9Ysk/1/326772658_qrnNb)...

Hope you guys like them, any C&C welcome.

Nice sharp shots,Scott.
The Escort wheels look frozen, maybe the shutter speeds want to come down a bit.
Can you not sort white balance in photoshop.first two look alright, maybe a bit blue on the track.the third is a tad warm ,car a bit creamy ,instead of white ?
Looks like the new lens is good.

nice effort - I like the detail shot of the Blue car on your gallery. I drove past the sign yesterday and wondered if it would be a good photgraphy event. I should have gone!!

Thanks for the comments. I have replaced the 3rd photo... should be a little cooler. I dropped about 500deg k off it.

Cheers,

i went early, but decided to head home because it was raining, nearly got bogged heading back up the hill, wet dirt (read mud) road and 2 wheel drive don't mix.

obviously it stopped raining.
