I recently shot my first air show. The Dubuque Air Show on the 3rd of July. Just got around to processing the images. Here are a couple of my favorites. I haven't finished processing the prop planes just yet. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

That 300mm f/2.8 is an awesome lens. Were you using a TC?
Nice photos. Great light, esp. in the A-10 shots.
Cheers,
Geoff S.

I haven't a bad thing to say about the 300 2.8. I was not using a TC for any of my shots at the air show. I was wide open for all these shots.
Thanks for the compliment, mother nature was very kind to us that night.

Man these are awesome!!! I love #1 especially with the condensation forming on the trailing edge of the wings as they slice through the air. Excellent camera work!!!

Great work! I can feel the movement in #2.
Thanks. I was amazed at how fast the A-10 can move. I've always considered it a slower plane (which it is but at close quarters, its moving!)

Thanks... I'll post them when I get a chance. I don't think they are as good as these images.

Thanks, #1 is my favorite as well.
I love the tight shots of #1 and #4. Execellent pics!
Thanks, Its nice when the tight shots work out. It is tough to pan with an F-18.
#2 is great! Nice shoot'n.
Thank You

Awesome shots Ryan, were you up in the park with Les? Looks like you were at eye level with the aircraft.

You can't beat the 300 2.8 for detail. The excellent light also helps :)

Yes, I was with Les. We were about eye level with most of the aircraft. Tons of fun!

Thank you. Glad to know they were descent. Being a newcomer to transportation, you never quite know if you are doing well.
Very nice shots, light was your friend.
I agree. Couldn't have picked a better set up if I could position the sun myself.
Helluva job for right out of the box...
Continued success!
Thanks.
