My dad recently purchased a new vintage race car, a hand made 1958 V.A.Y. Special - a Canadian Sports Car racer. We took it out to the Reno Fernley Test day this last Saturday to see how it ran. Although it was much slower than the rest of the cars testing out there that day (948cc Austin Healey Sprite engine), it was by far the loudest and coolest!

The car was only out for three sessions, and two of those sessions, I was shooting from behind the Pit wall. The third session though, the track manager took me out in his off-road golf cart and showed me around the track. I only had one lap at each shooting location, so I couldn't spend much time refining my shots. This is what I came up with though, and I hope to get back to that track for more. There are definitely a lot of nice shots to be had.

As always, C&C appreciated.

Enjoy!

Aaron

Sounds like a fun day. Nice set of images. I like the wide shots and you did a nice job incorporating the scenery in the shots. Very well done.

Thanks guys!

luigi1991, I was using a 70-200 f/2.8 IS and a 400mm f/5.6, both with and without the 1.4x TC. This combination gives me a lightweight but sharp setup that covers me for pretty much the whole tele range.
