IS?
If ya don't know why post.
No I don't. You can see a huge gallery here. Some sample pics though would help us know whether you're just getting worked up over nothing. Sometimes people forget they're using a P&S.

And yes, face detection sucks.

were you fully zoomed in when taking those two pictures? can't seem to tell if the bluriness is caused my slight shake or misfocus.

Focal Length is 17.4, so he's zoomed in all the way. Even a little with the digital zoom. And on Canon's website, the Canon PowerShot SD750 has IS.

Right. Let's see, false info or me who owns one. Besides, it doesn't.

Looks like user error as it is a P&S. It takes some practice. They are for snapshots. Sometimes it's small stuff like the flash or ISO. Try taking some more controlled shots and give detail about when you took it.
If you can take it back, why not right?

Just read what the title of my browser showed me.
"Canon Powershot SD750 IS digital camera"
No need to get upset over it.

Looks a lot like motion blur to me. If you have a tripod (table, anything sturdy really), put it on that, set the 2 sec timer, and take a picture of something stationary. If that comes out sharp, then most likely those pics are blurry due to motion blur.
Those small P&S cameras are difficult to keep still at the telephoto ends.

This camera does not have IS. In both shots the shutter speed was too slow to handhold. The first was 1/50 f4.9 ISO 200 and the second was 1/80 f4.9 ISO 200. Both shots look cropped so that will also exaggerate the blurriness.
When zoomed out to to the max of 17.4mm , you have an equivalent of 105mm.
(This camera has a "crop factor"of about 6 to 1!) You should use a tripod or a faster shutter speed if you want to shoot zoomed all the way out.
Also, ISO 200 is not going to give you the best quality either. Try ISO 80 or ISO 100 instead.
This camera has many shooting modes. What mode were you shooting in?
Was it Auto, Camera M, Portrait, Foliage, Snow, Beach, Fireworks, Aquarium, Underwater, Indoor, Kids & Pets, Night Snapshot ?

Either you were on the field and following Carlos Quentin up to the plate, or you had digital zoom turned on. Turn that off.
Second, if you are not shooting with the flash on, you are really going to have a heck of a time taking pictures at a low ISO. Put that baby into manual, adjust the white balance to fit the day, and turn up the ISO.
The SD750 can be tough to get used to as the shutter release takes a little bit of a push to get it to go. My recommendation would be to put the camera into continuous shooting mode and take a couple of shots of the same thing. Then you can go back and review on a computer and pick out a good one.
Manual, ISO 400, White Balance Cloudy, Continuous shooting mode. That would be my goto setting for an outdoor shot with less than desireable light (either picture posted).
I love my SD750 but I have really taken some lousy pictures with it. With practice and continuing to shoot a bunch, you guys will get some great ones.
