Hi, I'm thinking about getting this combo and particularly interested in how the pictures come out using these 2 products, i have not found much.

Thanks and it is much appreciated if you can help me. Would like to see small objects in focus but other mediums are welcome.:)

Thanks and it is much appreciated if you can help me. Would like to see small objects in focus but other mediums are welcome.:)I had the XSi and the 60mm f/2.8 macro (I just ordered a 40D to replace the XSi).

I'm still quite new to photography, so am still far from developing "the eye," but I'm having fun trying to learn.

Here are some photos (http://www.flickr.com/photos/the-jude/sets/72157605956004200/) I took with the XSi / 60mm macro. (Again, please keep in mind I've only been doing this for a matter of weeks, which shows.)

I don't think there is such a thing as "full focus" in photography. Even with a wide angle lens shooting a landscape, if there's something close enough to you, you have to make a choice and even at the smallest aperture setting.

It's like your eye, you choose what to focus on, unless everthing is far away enough that you can just take it all in at once. That's called "infinity" BTW.

With macro, it's much worse. The depth of field is a huge challenge, and just getting anything in focus should probably be considered a triumph for us beginners.

But generally, like the human eye works, you don't want people to focus on the entire pic at once, but at the parts you want them to look at. Hence what's in focus and what's not is an important part of composition and the artform in general.

IMO of course.

Eye detail is a selling point.

somthing like f/18..the bigger the aperture the softer the image..you would have to make a decision..do u want fine details and not all in focus or soft as **** and every thing in focus..normally f/16 is about the highest you want to go.all tho i have seen some amazing shots at f/32 :)
