Fill Flash Techniques

First of this is my first post....I will try and behave during my many visits:)

I have just installed the WHack on my 300D rebel and was wondering if anyone had a tip on fill flashing with the on board flash unit.

Also is there just a plain good source for learning fillflash skill other than good ole hardwork????
