Has anyone experienced the macro extension tubes on ebay, they cost about 30ish dollars. Any good/bad thoughts about it?
Im thinking of trying out some macro with my new tammy 17-50

The really cheap ones are basically a metal tube and that's it. There are no autofocus or aperture controls etc. I have some that I use with an olp pentax 50mm lens with a manual aperture ring and that setup works well. It's a bit more fiddly with the modern lenses without manual aperture rings though.

actually, good point. the focussing is manual and very fiddly. i guess with macro i don't mind fiddling around. the DOF is very shallow...
