Hi, my last camera was a 10MP Canon Powershot A640 and I had loads of fun with it, it was great. But now I'm looking for something much smaller and lighter that I can just use as a normal digicam, that will take almost as good quality photos. I think I've decided on the 8MP Canon Ixus 80 as my budget is around £150. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about it? And does anyone know where I can find a really good price for it as I'd preferably like to pay £130 or less? Thanks in advance :)

the reviews on it are good. apparently it takes great pictures in good light. ebay would be a good place to look. make sure you pick a seller with a high percentage of positive feedback.

ratgirl, I use an Ixus 80 and I think it's one of the better small compacts and easy to use. It takes really good videos and it's good for indoor shots with flash. My only concern about it is that you need good quality light before taking pics as it doesn't cope well with anything larger than 400ISO. I'm really starting to enjoy using it, I bought it for my parents and I find myself using it more than them. I had a Panasonic TZ3 before the Ixus and the Ixus out performs the TZ3 in colour and indoor photos with flash.
In my opinion the only other small compacts which are similar would be the Fugi's.

Thank you for your help. I decided to definitely get the Ixus 80 as it ticks the boxes of everything I want from a camera at the moment. Thanks again :-)
