Inside the Engine Works at the National Railway Museum in York, UK.

Very interesting to walk around and watch the engineers at work repairing and restoring old locomotives, the tools they used looked as if they were as old as the locomotives themselves. You could just coak up the detail on their workbenches for hours. :)

Quite ironic that shot of "Union Of South Africa" (60009) in the workshop, because she failed on Saturday's "Coronation".

I guess they must have missed something.

That's "Flying Scotsman" in Nos.3 and 4, can't wait for that in steam again.

Interesting observation, thanks for that. I wonder why she was in whilst I was there (Mid-June)?

No idea, she was running well in DECEMBER (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lSYDbYrXIo) though.

By the way if ever you want to photograph any of the steam hauled specials there's a list HERE (http://www.uksteam.info/tours/trs08.htm).

I like the contrast in the shots, the yellow framework of the building really sets off the dark colors of the locomotives and parts.
