Hi all. My first post here. New to digital SLR. Will be picking up a XSi in the next month and want to learn as much as I can in the meantime about digital photography, how to use manual settings in a SLR, using LR and PS, etc. This tutorial seems to be great at covering all aspects of it. Yet I have searched the forum and found no posts about it.

If this is not the best, any idea on a book, website, video, etc. that really covers all aspects of digital photography from the basics, to using raw, to processing, etc. Thanks all.

Welcome to POTN. You have come to the right place to learn about using your XSi. There are a lot of accomplished photographers here that will be more than willing to impart their wisdom.
Did I mention that the help is all free of charge?
Be sure to comb through the Stickies and FAQs nd if you can't find the info you need then post a question in the appropriate forum. (don't worry, if you post in the wrong forum some friendly Mod will move your thread to the correct forum :-)).

No, I don't use it. I'm pretty self taught and I still think that's the best way to learn. Canon's Enjoy! site is also mega helpful (www.canon.co.jp/imaging/enjoydslrl (www.canon.co.jp/imaging/enjoydslr/)) though when you're starting out. I think you can learn a lot about the basics but just experimenting and being hyper observant.
