My Son, his girlfriend and my Granddaughter. Taken tonight with DRebel
and 50mm lens and 420 bounce flash. soften and crop in PS. Nothing special just getting some practice in. But I thought they turned out pretty good.

Unfair. Most of us have a few unattractive people in our families.

Great shots Gail, do you mind if I ask what you use for your background? I'm just starting off in doing some portrait work and I was going to have a go at making my own background, maybe dye a double bed sheet or something? I like the background you've used in these shots & would like a similar look.
Me and my wife spent a few days in Tupelo last summer whilst touring the US, a lovely place!
Regards,
Paul.

Inspiring. I got a digital rebel for Christmas and wonder how long it will be before I can get such great shots. I took "decent" portraits with my 35mm Rebel, but am still "tweeking" my digital. And when will I ever master Photoshop?

Nice portraits of your family Gail. I remember your earlier shots of your Grand Daughter, and She is turning into a real looker. :D

The softness and the warmth in the first photo make it quite splendid :)

Thanks to all for the very lovely comments I appreciate it much. Yes my granddaughter is really growing up to fast I remember when I would sit and hold her in my arms and cuddle her. I still do that but I forget that she is getting older and I don't want to face that. One day when she's becomes a young woman. I want to keep her as my little baby girl forever. Now she is becoming a young woman and the guys are started to notice her more and I'm like OH NO! she's my baby lol.
And for the son he's moving on too as I do miss them times when he was small. Now I sit back and look at him and wonder where did my little boy go.
Paul, for the background I used is an old protector screen that I picked up from a garage sale really comes in handy for shots like this. It's white on one side and black on the other and sometimes I drape a piece of cloth over it that I picked up from walmart it's a black piece of silk that I got off the bargain table for $1.00 per yard I bought like 4 yards of it. Makes pretty good backdrop for a poor girl ha. :-)

Completely off-topic comment here, but the sons girlfriend looks so much like someone. An actress in an Australian soap from years ago. I'm thinking Home and Away or Neighbours. And I'm thinking she was a twin, or had a brother. Someone help me out, it's really bugging me.

Absolutely beautiful pictures, Gail, of very attractive kids. You are fortunate. Now, you are getting much better quality portraits from your Rebel than I am. Guess I have to work harder.

I really like the shots! How old is your son and his girlfriend though? They don't look to be that old to have a granddaughter that age? Or am I just missing something here (if you don't mind me asking)? heh
