Hi There
I took this pic of a £20,I used the centre focus point which focused exactly where wanted it to & the shallow depth of field was deliberate the fact that the line of focus I was expecting was straight across the centre of the of the image however as you can see that its spot on in the middle in the centre of the image but on the right its higher & its lower on the left just wandered if that was normal or not ??

yes it is normal because the shot was taken at a slight angle which makes the curve in the infoucus area. if this shot was taken straight on with no angle it would be straight across the image.

Your picture is probably not square to the camera. When you think about it, that's pretty hard to do anytime - but especially in macro mode.

To be sure, you would have to get the full image or one or its square corners in the field of view and check the corner angles of the image. Even then it would be difficult to check because of lens distortion.

BTW - which macro lens?
