Michael Tapes has stated the release will be within 2 weeks unless something unforeseen pops up in final testing which is where they apparently are at now. Looks 20D and 1DsMKll people will finally get to use of their licensed version of C1 by Feb 05. Something they haven't been able to do for a few months now. Just imagine owning a car that had to sit idle for a few months because of lack of parts. I suspect that it is mainly the 20D users (of the Canon models) that are affected the most as I imagine many of 1DMKll/1DsMKll people have obtained the beta versions for their personal use.

Personally, I've switch to Adobe Camera Raw 2.3 in Photoshop, and I like it so much, I probably won't go back to C1 unless there is a huge difference in image quality.
The ACR workflow suits me better, and the image quality has really improved over earlier versions.

I've done about 50-60 photos using ACR, and their are times when I can't get it looking decent and have to do too much in PS itself. And it does *not* suit my workflow even after several attempts to find a good methodology.

Alas, I will go back to C1, even though I dislike the idea of giving them any money at this point.

It is great that there are other alternatives. I have tried them all and my C1 Pro has been replaced with Bibble even though I'm entitled to a couple more updates. That is unless C1 change their policy again. Now that I'm used to the program I have found the workflow just as good if not better than C1, fast conversion times and good color. Bibble has great tech support also. I heard that Magne and Bibble have been talking and I expect to see good things come from that.

I can also get results I want in PS CS with much less effort and time than I could in C1 Pro.

It's probably worth noting that Jasc PSP v.9 also has a RAW processing feature. I haven't used it myself though. (All I get from my digicams are Jpegs.) :(
