I have to photograph several cloth samples, so they can be used on a web site.

It is important that the images are a true representation of the colours in the material.

I interested if anyone has tips on the best way to actually photography the cloth samples.

You might try a light box...You can search here on how to make one in the DIY threads..Not all that hard....Then get a grey card to set you white balance or even better to adjust in PP if you shoot RAW ....Set up on a tripod and then what lenses do you have ??
P.S ..I like your AVATAR very tastefull...

I know it is important to get the colors correct but I doubt that people looking at the web page will be doing so on a calibrated monitor. The color they see is not likely to be true no matter how accurate you try to be.

Just a thought not a dig....
