has anyone tried the new Gitzo ball heads
i just ordered a gitzo 2530 mountain tripod , and was going to order the markins q3 head , but i was wondering about the new gitzo heads GH1780QR

I was curious about Gitzo ballheads in general too, but it really seems that most here opt not to get them and either go with Markins (which is what Im leaning more towards) or RRS ballheads.

Haven't tried the new ones. Have tried the previous generation, and prefer the Markins.

One combination that some people seem to use is the Markins M10/M20 ball head with RRS quick release clamps and levers. I'm considering this...and trying to ignore the cost for now because it does sort of seem like the best of both worlds. I believe (but would like someone to confirm for me) that if you order the Markins M20-NQS and appropriate RRS QR clamp, like the B2 LRII, that it works really well (preferred by many over the BH-55). Any opinions on this?
