not sure where else i could post this but i read a review about the latest microtek scanner. it is a flatbed with the glass, but then has a slideout drawer with different film holders, so it isn't scanning through glass. i have a canon 9900f from a few years back. the holders are a bit flimsy and the film still has a curl to it. that and can never seem to get the glass to stay clean, and sometimes the color is off. when i do a scan preview, depending how i crop the area to be scanned, sometimes it turns out with a bad color cast. i've read about the lasersoft (i think that is what it is called) software that is better than the driver software with the canon.
but spending 200 bucks for the software for my scanner, when i could put the money towards the newer higher resolution scanner that already has the pro software with it.
wondering if anyone else strays slightly from the Canon path.
