Here's couple of shots of sport that doesn't usually get that many people taking shots of it, well at least I haven't seen too many around.
I was in Norway for some photography few weeks back and thought to post couple of pics to see what others think of them..

I know as a 'rule' (rules are meant to be broken..right) it might not be 'right' to take pictures from the back. But I like this image with the FINISH sign at the back.
Would like to know if the image 'works' for anyone else.. or am I the only one??

This one is face-on, not sure if the crop I've made is a little too tight... there would be more rocks and water in the original shot. Not much, but in the original size I think this works quite nice and as the A3 size print it came out nicely. Not sure if the image posted here might be a little too small?

C&C welcome..as I know there is always room for improvement!!

I like both shots, the only small criticism I have of the 1st shot is there is too much wasted space to the kayakers left for my liking. Maybe crop it vertically just to the left of the kayaker.
Cheers

Thanks for your comment Stuart, I can see your point in the crop suggestion.
When you do cover the left half of the shot, it does look like there's more 'action' in the shot.

Maybe I just tried to keep too much of the surroundings in the shot as well (I always seem to like to keep too much nature in my shots...)

I think they both look great. how;d you keep your gear from getting drenched?

Great shots. That first picture actually made me want to go swimming.

I had a rain sleeve on during the downpours of rain (and there were quiet a few)
Other than that..nothing really, but I suppose the 1D MKII should be able to take few splashes.

Thanks for the comments, very nice to hear that it is not only me who thinks these shots are good.
