40D or 400D?
10D....not having much budget yet for 40D... actually just begin last year...slowly upgrading...
that 10D brought from my GURU...
Camera equipment a bit expensive here if you compare with Malaysian currency but it to Aussie think will be cheaper....
Maybe once you here, I bring you to 1-2 shop prefer by photographer as it cheaper than others

i think i have more than enough gear to last a long time. my limit now is me! :)
the 10D produces lovely pictures. my main issue with it is that it's slow. but the pics are really good.

thanks! with regards to the camera settings:
- sturdy manfrotto steel tripod. very heavy and had to lug in all the way to the park in the cold, dark and wet.
- long exposures. often 30 seconds. 3 pics taken of the same composition. 4 EV difference. -2, 0, +2.
- f/8 or more.
- mirror lock up.
- self timer.
- RAW
then i conbimed the pics with Photomatix. still very new to that, so just let it be on Auto. i'm sure i can improve on that.
that's about it. i'm finding the most important thing in landscape is to be there and stop vibration as much as i can - that's what the tripod is for. it's a pain and everyone stares, but later on, it's worth it when you see the pics.
