S5IS - Zoom x DOF

I think that to combine zoom and DOF, independently of the equipment, it is always necessary an extra ability.

I sometimes hurry with the zoom of my S5IS and I don't get a good DOF with her (very short DOF).

Which is the best form of obtaining a good DOF (a great depth) with for S5IS, specifically? Does anybody know a trick to use DOF the S5IS more correctly when associated to the its zoom?

go to AV mode, try f8/0 and zoom in, keep opening up from there

Shutter speed and ISO are the trade-off attributes to change till you get it just right. DSLR's have a tighter focal distance, this makes for terrific bokeh, but P&S tend to have a quite wide focal distance.

I didn't say that, I just couldn't find a good example using a point n shoot, so i used dslr ones then explained because most point n shoots don't goto F22. I have achieved several good bokeh shots. On my camera it's F3.2 to F4.1 with 3x optical zoom a good distance from the target. And if you still can't get the shot you want, there's always other solutions, like http://www.dofpro.com/

I also have excellent DOF plans with my S5. In some cases, in fact, this is not the privilege DSLRs.

But sometimes this is hard for me. So I posted this question.
Maybe some other way of doing something to solve my problem.

Small tricks sometimes make all difference.

For example, as noted here that I must give preference to small openings (> F). And what I saw, yes, I think this makes sense. ;)

Looks to be a macro shot, bokeh is much easier in macro mode though not practical for everyday people shooting; weddings and such.
