Hi,
I will be in Miami from October 13-20.
We will have own transportation.
Are there any sites that really need to be visited ?
To be honest I hate the tourists attractions, what we look for are edgy/gritty/urban/decay/grafity and of course beautiful nature.
Or we would love to visit working photographers in the Miami area.
Greetings,

If you like people watching, you must to Lincoln Road, South Beach and Nikki Beach... nice ppl all around, if the weather helps you can get lucky. Rusty Pelican is a restaurant that has a great view of downtown Miami. Coral Gables, kind of fancy neighborhood with nice Spanish-type houses... and CG you can find also the Biltmore hotel...
good luck!!!

I go to school at the U of Miami in Coral Gables. if you want the epitome of urban grittiness go to overtown. But I wouldn't suggest actually going there, it's a pretty awful neighborhood. Last time I went there I was in the back of an open jeep wrangler and crackheads were yelling "BRRRRRAP!" at me.
The bridges connecting the mainland to south beach are really cool at night, one bridge has really cool purple lights, one has really cool blue lights, etc.
