I have only just 'converted' my 300D with the Wasia Hack and haven't had the opportunity to explore the new setting fully - am really looking forward to doing so.

On the Perez Design Group website - http://www.perezdesigngroup.com/content/blogsection/6/65/11/33/ (http://www.perezdesigngroup.com/content/blogsection/6/65/11/33/)

The following appears

Canon EOS-300D Firmware Hack (http://www.perezdesigngroup.com/content/view/28/65/)

So you just bought the Canon EOS Rebel 300d DSLR and you want to modify and expand it's current settings to mimic the 10d. Luckily, there is a popular Russian site (http://satinfo.narod.ru/en/index.html), courtesy of Ravil and Wasia, that has cracked the firmware and allowed several settings to be used in the 300d thus expanding it's usefulness and possibilities. Below are all the links you'll ever need for modifying the Canon EOS Digital Rebel 300d. The PDF manual (http://members.rogers.com/tanm/Wasia%20B7.1%20firmware%20features.pdf) is here. For a more specific comprehension of the hack, you need the 10D manual (http://www.canon-asia.com/supports/CJ.html).

Regarding the final sentence - has anyone found the 10D manual necessary - or even helpful? Obviously this would need downloading if required but I wonder if this is 'OTT'

PS.The latest thread on the Wasia Hack is now rather long and slipping into the past -
I thought it a good idea to start a new thread....

I think it's part of the new hacked features....make things bigger all over.

For the older people with bad eye sight, lol.

the 10D manual isn't necessary, but it wouldn't hurt to download it.
The custom functions in the hack are taken from the 10D, and the manual describes what the settings are and what they do.

Where can you get the manual? I couldn't find it on Canon's website, and all of the places that returned hits wanted money for it.

Anyone have it out there for free?

Thanks for the manual Wolf, I was also looking for it... If that link dies I know Amazon has the manuals for download if you look under the specific camera type for sale.

My 2 cents, if you don't know what the features are you unlocked, the 10D manual will help explain them.

Canon has it here (http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=DownloadDetailAct&fcategoryid=314&modelid=8772#New%20Window). Choose "Product User Guides and Manuals". You get there by choosing the camera you want from the Eos (http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=ProductCatIndexAct&fcategoryid=111) site, then clicking on "Download Library"). For older cameras, from the Eos home page, choose "Product Archive" under "Related Links".

Yeah, that's what I meant when I couldn't find it on Canon's site... when I go to that page, there's no manual listed under "Product User Guides and Manuals"... the link returns nothing. So if anyone knows of any other place to find it, or could email me the PDF, I'd be eternally grateful.

Hmmm, the link works, you have to look under 5th section of the red bars. click under product guide and user manuals and select lanugage for it.
