Very interesting presentation... The slices are unique, making for an interesting composition.

Glasses are hard to take pictures of, but this (as most do) looks really blown out. Where was your light source in this picture? It appears to be from the back left. If this was shot in a lightbox, then pull your lights back further but also put one on the right side as well since this will be taking away from your cherries. You may want to experiment with putting a from the top at equal distance. Only to help bring light to your cherries. Remember, smaller lights create spot like reflections that will not outline the entire length of the glass.
I would suggest using a black background instead, maybe bounce it off a silver background on either side of the glass just outside the camera's viewing distance.

I agree. A little too blown out. Need detail in the stem of the glass...

this was after i ran it through cs3 and gave it a diffuse glow filter....
i get your comments and certainly appreciate them... thanks

I think it looks great. Not just your average cherris in a glass. I dont think that was your objective anyway.
i would like to know more about your technique for this shot...
