Got a new A75 and have been impressed by all but one thing so far. Unlike virtually every other camera manufacturer, the camera doesn't appear to act as a USB Mass Storage Device so you can simply copy and or delete pictures from the camera as if it were just another disk drive. (It appears in Windows Explorer, but will not allow you to copy to it.) I have found where you can upload pics back to the camera through the Zoom Browser software, but it will not allow me to upload images that have been edited by third party software.
Can I only upload unedited images? Can I only upload images edited with Canon software? Is there another way to get images into the camera without buying a card reader? What about Microsoft Activesync, will that help?
Thanks for your help.

Why do you need to upload them?

I was wanting to take the card to get the pics printed. As it was, I had to burn a CD instead. I know that I could buy a card reader, but seeing as most other camera manufacturer's just set their camera's up as USB Mass Storage Devices, I was wondering why Canon didn't, and there is a way to get around this proprietary crap.
Thanks.

I would use a flash drive.

Got one, but it is only 64MB, as it was, I had 100MB of photos to print. And actually, I didn't notice if the print station had a USB slot. Even so, this doesn't address the main problem of me having to buy additional equiptment that I wouldn't have to purchase if I had bought virtually any other camera. I know there are work arounds, but I want to know if there is a way to get the edited pics back into the camera so I can just take the flash card to the store for prints.
Canon is starting to remind me of Gateway, "Use our software and buy our upgrade parts or you are screwed."

You can get a CF pc card solt holder (don't know the real name) for around $10 and use it like a drive.

Oh well, unless someone has figured out a way around this, card reader shopping, I will go.
