Some friends just got back from a safari in Africa and want to blow up some of their images and have them framed really nicely. They've asked for my help getting them printed and ready for print (sharpened, color adjust).
I usually use WHCC for my prints, but I've never done anything this big other than on canvas. The largest of the series they want is roughly 36x48. I'm not even sure if WHCC prints this large.
What type of finish would be best? A textured one?
Or should I have it printed on art paper like pixel2canvas does or something similar?
Thanks for any advice,
heather

I have printed 30x45 from WHCC. Keep in mind they can not mount that. The biggest they mount is somewhere around 30" on the long end(I think). Also I think WHCC offers one size bigger yet. You can DL their price list and check. I had mine printed on metallic, and it is very nice. I think canvas would run a pretty penny, or any fine art papers for that matter. Also framing will be quite expensive, not to mention a framed canvas print (not sure why y ou would want that anyway) Depending on where they are going to be putting these, they are VERY large, and there needs to be some distance between you and the image, so a large room would be best. Also if it is a small room, a smaller size may be more pleasurable. But to each their own.
Hope this helps.

For images that big, a canvas print could work real nice. Not framed, but rather stretched.

Thanks!!!
Yeah, it's for their HUGE living room... hm.. I was going to call WHCC, but hm... thanks for the info on the mounting.
Canvas would be nice, but I think they're going to be getting some fancy frames for these and I'm guessing the want them to all match (doing about 3 images).
To texture or not?

That would depend on the image I think.
Texture could work great for some images, less for others.
Personal taste also comes into it ;)
